Tickseed dyed silk dupioni 5 inch

This is shibori dyed by twisting and binding with rubber bands and then dipped overnight in a solar dye. The tickseed used to make the dye was gathered on Folly Beach, SC.

The silk was mordanted with alum, dyed, then spritzed a little bit with soda ash turning parts a darker orange.
